The Cyber Defense Solutions Department is seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing team who design, implement, and deploy cyber related software solutions to defend our nation's most valuable assets in space. We support a variety of customers including the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA) by protecting their ground networks and satellite systems from sophisticated adversaries. The qualified candidate will become part of the Defensive Cyber Operations section in the Cyber Defense Solutions Department.

Work Model

This position can be fulfilled as an in-person or hybrid work model; some onsite work in El Segundo, CA is required.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and deploy novel tools and techniques to detect abnormal activity on space mission systems
  • Lead small development teams and communicate progress to customers
  • Sharpen your software and cloud development skills through hands on development, mentorship, and training
  • Leverage orchestration and cyber security tools and technologies to measure effectiveness and impact on mission systems
  • Integrate various cyber security products and tools to deliver guidance and standard methodologies tailored to customer needs
  • Proactively interact with customers and coworkers by communicating project status, technical findings and technical demonstrations
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field
  • Experience developing in Python, C/C++ or other relevant languages
  • Experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Experience building, maintaining, and integrating additional security tools into DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
