Aon is looking for a Senior Proposal Manager The Senior Proposal Manager will work on bids for our Aon Wealth Solutions - Investment Consulting business unit. They will write, revise, proofread, and finalize proposals in response to RFPs (request for proposals) and presentations specific to client situations. The opportunities will focus on our Investment Consulting line of business. The Senior Proposal Manager will lead, plan, develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations required by client solicitations. They will provide hands-on management of the entire full-cycle project development processes, including but not limited to: leading kick off meetings, writing customized content, supervising timelines, editing documents, working on presentation deliverables, and ensuring compliance with the Aon brand. The Senior Proposal Manager will work with colleagues across Aon Wealth Solutions, as well as product and industry practice sales teams, subject matter authorities and designers, to ensure that proposals and presentations reflect the best technical, management, and support offerings that Aon can make in response to RFPs. The Senior Proposal Manager is encouraged to assist in achieving national goals for new business and client retention via execution of the core responsibilities of the position, which focus on responding to offensive (new business) and defensive (retention / jeopardy) requests for proposal (RFPs) and presentations. Responsibilities Ability to lead the firm's largest and most complex proposals and finalist presentations (approximately 35-40 per year) Serve as a primary trainer to new associates onboarding to the team Demonstrate strong project management skills and an ability to balance workflow across the team, ensure deadlines are met, quality is consistent and adhere to brand guidelines Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the Wealth Practice, Compliance, Legal and Sales Teams Work closely with leadership to track needs, concerns, and liaison for the proposal team in order to serve as an advocate and 'sounding board' for the national Pursuit and Creative Team Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups Acts independently Represent Aon's brand strategy internally in order to persuade and influence others. Develop flexible processes and tools to support different levels of needs in a fast-paced, budget-conscious environment Provide performance management feedback to team members (goal setting and review) Skills/Experience: Responsible for leading and providing strategic direction on the firm's largest and most sophisticated proposals and presentations, often partnering with senior and executive leaders. Display a high level shown understanding of Aon's investment consulting solution Provide strategic direction for the preparation of proposals and presentations to achieve a response that is in line with the defined approach Work with consultants and subject matter authorities to craft customized content Partner with the lead designer to ensure proposals and presentations are visually impactful; assist teams with custom graphic creation and drafting initial presentations Lead presentation brainstorming and development sessions, serving as the presentation authority on the firm's largest opportunities Acts independently, with minimal / occasional direction from the Director of Bid Management. Oversees the largest projects, providing strategic guidance and mentors junior team members. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth assessment Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise Expertly handle meaningful situations (including when leadership is involved) without harming relationships Identify trends and engage in process improvement efforts centrally and nationally where vital Supporting the Investment Consulting Manager, often as a backup Requirements: 8 years professional work experience in bid management required investment consulting experience required Significant background in the development of custom strategic content (demonstrating critical messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required Ability to manage multiple sophisticated bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines Experience providing strategic direction to account teams for client presentations, including in person rehearsals and results, in partnership with a designer Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality (required) Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve sophisticated issues in creative and effective ways Sophisticated knowledge of Proposal Management Software (SharePoint, Loopio, etc.) strongly preferred Advanced Word, PowerPoint and Excel knowledge required Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields in communication required APMP certification preferred We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
