Job Connection Center Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: To assist Job Connection Center (JCC) participants with job searches, sign up for services, complete intake records, help participants use the available resources in Job Connection including building resumes, cover letters, and using online video tutorials, as well as serve as the face as Employment Services.

NOTE: This is not a supervisory role.

Hourly pay rate: $16.00 to $18.00 (based on qualifications)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • The employee must be punctual, dependable, and reliable with their attendance.
  • The employee will assist Job Center participants with resume building through Indeed and through using Job Center templates.
  • The employee will help job seekers locate employment opportunities using job search sites and through the use of Goodwill employment partners.
  • The employee will help Job Center clients apply for community resources when applicable.
  • The employee will help Job Center attendees complete New Client Intake forms and other required forms as part of the Job Center.
  • The employee will help coordinate enrollment paperwork for the Goodwill Career Pathways Institute.
  • The employee will help navigate paperwork for Mandated Community Service personnel.
  • The employee will build case files and maintain appropriate records for audit purposes.
  • The employee will make outbound calls on behalf of the Job Center to determine employment placement.
  • The employee will verify employment outcomes with job seekers following a 30, 60, 90-day contact strategy.
  • The employee will accept inbound calls and provide services to clients over the phone as needed.
  • Support OJT and WEX clients in collaboration with GICO Human Resources, other departments, and state agencies.
  • Provide supporting documentation to the relevant parties for the purposes of continuity within the OJT and WEX relationship.
  • Assist clients with various supports that include applications for services and other relevant assistance to help clients overcome employment barriers.
  • Maintain various filing systems, including computer records of various activities.
  • Submit required reports to supervisor.
  • Support the Goodwill mission, staff, and be responsible for duties involving Goodwill clients.
  • Coordinate and recruit for 4-6 Goodwill Career Fairs with the agency.
  • Collect necessary verifications required by agencies and help keep accurate and updated client files.
  • Review and be familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes. Attend safety training, meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Guide participant to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and the individual's personal responsibility in resolving those problems.
  • Provide post placement follow up services to increase long-term success of participant.
  • Provide coverage for Workforce areas as needed including but not limited to Reception.
  • Assist with compliance paperwork and data entry.
  • Navigate internal Goodwill systems including LMS, CRM, Excel documents, and external resources such as Indeed and ONet.
  • Support SNAP engagement through submission of client information and creation of relevant case files to support the audit needs of our partnership.
  • Provide assessments to JCC clients as needed.
  • Always ensure HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience working with diverse populations including disabled individuals or those with significant barriers to employment and housing, preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Reliable transportation and communication, required.
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus.

  • Some work sites require long periods of walking and standing.
  • Employee is required to operate a computer.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Works in a climate controlled, office environment most of the time.
  • Low noise level.
  • Requires some local travel providing own transportation.
