Security Officer- Norman, OK ($16.00 hr)

JOB SUMMARY: To maintain a high standard of alertness, responsibility, and confidentiality. Also works well with other officers under all conditions required by nature of the operation, must be dependable and a team player. This position has no assigned post but will float to various locations specified by management.

This is not a supervisory role.

Hourly Pay Rate: $16

SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE UP TO $500

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Support staffing requirements during shortages due to vacations, call-offs, no shows, suspensions, holidays, and work during "high need" periods, etc. Expected to work on weekends and holidays with limited notice.
  • Speak with guests entering and departing the facility, administering intake forms, and clearance checks.
  • Assist in start-ups at new accounts to include working the site, writing post orders and training checklists and training newly assigned permanent Security Officers.
  • Work special security assignments as required.
  • Staff new accounts until permanent Security Officers can be hired. Provide security for short-term special events.
  • Be familiar with on-site emergency procedures, first aid supplies and equipment.
  • Expected to remain vigilant and attentive while on duty.
  • Foot patrol & routine check of all doors entering the building is required for some security post.
  • Able to act under pressure with a high standard of protection for property and human life.
  • Maintain proper security logs.
  • Able to work well and professionally with Management when situation arises.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of uniforms & maintain a professional appearance.
  • Punctual & dependable attendance.
  • Able to follow all security instructions posted on each security location.
  • Reviews and is familiar with GICO safety policies, programs, and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and necessary safety meetings.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform other duties as required by Security management.
  • In the absence of his/her supervisor follows, enforces, and provides training to ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed. Completes and submits any necessary forms and/or reports immediately, but no longer than within 24 hours, when an incident occurs.
  • Maintain current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers First Aid and CPR if required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:



  • Valid Unarmed Cleet License issue by the State of Oklahoma, required.
  • Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must pass OSBI/DOC background check and drug test as a condition of employment.
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
  • Must have a flexible availability.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • May be required to travel up to 20 miles
  • Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours at various security posts is required, including nights, weekends, & holidays.
