Position Summary:

Vallen's Credit and Collections Representative II manages a portfolio of customer's accounts receivable. Contacts customers with delinquent accounts and initiates appropriate collection activity to bring the account to a current position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides excellent customer service by displaying a professional attitude to both external & internal customers.



  • Contacts customers on a daily basis regarding their past due A/R balance.
  • May perform account adjustments and applications at the direction of the SR CA or Credit Manager.
  • Works directly with customers and sales force to resolve disputes.
  • Works directly with site operations and customer service when necessary to collect on certain customer's accounts.
  • Works directly with customer service and customers to resolve credit hold issues.
  • Recommends credit hold to Credit Manager when necessary.
  • Contacts customer regarding any NSF checks.
  • May assist Credit Manager with preparation of notice filings, bond claims and/or legal matters.
  • Determines when internal collection efforts are no longer effective and recommends 3rd party collections to the Credit Manager.
  • Recommends demand letters when they are appropriate.
  • Works with the Cash Application Department to reconcile unapplied payments to customer's accounts.
  • May release hold tickets within company guidelines when customer is in good standing.
  • May recommend a credit line increase to the Credit Manager when appropriate.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.



Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:



  • Associates degree from college or technical school or
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training;
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.



Requirements:



  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner
  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Strong .xlsx Skills required (VLOOKUP/PIVOT Table)
