Manager, Data Scientist- Advisory Data Organization (ADO)

KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Advisory Data Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collaboration and ideation of Signals use cases with cross-functional teams to understand their client's business needs and identify relevant Signals Solutions that can be leveraged or built
  • Design and lead the development of Signals Bundles, which are advanced analytics solutions using Signals Repository to enable rapid ML/AI experiment with large scale of geo-tagged data; in particular, this entails designing the technical framework of the solutions, planning out the analytical workstreams and activities and hands-on development of the solutions
  • Lead the conversion of client use cases into re-usable analytics assets, such as data ETL packages and ML pipelines, manage the maintenance, evolution and quality assurance of these assets
  • Lead junior team members in various client-facing or internal development projects, by helping them set up challenging but achievable goals, providing technical guidance and business orientation to ensure project progress and alignment of project goal and team members' development goals
  • Grow the team by actively involving oneself in the recruiting process, including interview question design, recruiting outreach and participation in the interview process
  • Manage and resolve Data Science inquiries from Global member firms to Signals Repository, by providing deep dive on re-usable Signals Bundles, guidance on package/pipeline usage and support in data curation and modeling pipeline development

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six years of experience in taking project lead roles or people manager roles, with strong business acumen and strong problem-solving ability through the use and/or development of data science algorithms, models, testing and strong ability to clearly communicate and articulate business needs to executive level stakeholders from cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industry Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree/PhD preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience developing data and modeling pipelines using Python
  • Strong capabilities in writing production ready code and pipelines; solid experience solving data science problems end to end, including data discovery, cleaning, model selection, validation and deployment; experience coding artificial intelligence methods using object-oriented programming in a software development process and ability to restructure, refactor and optimize code for efficiency
  • Proven ability to utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to deliver insights, such as Python, R, experience with command-line scripting, data structures and algorithms
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
