Job Description Summary:

To coordinate and plan college-wide financial literacy programming that supports students' persistence and graduation from ACC.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Conducts financial literacy workshops at all ACC campuses.
2) Collaborates with faculty and staff to deliver workshops to target student groups.
3) Develops marketing materials and coordinate outreach events to engage students in financial literacy programming.
4) Creates workshop curriculum and educational content (including content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blog, and website) in alignment with office goals.
5) Assists with special events that support office goals, including planning, coordinating logistics, and promotion.
6) Stays current on best-practices in financial literacy programming in higher education and make recommendations to increase ACC's impact on student financial wellness.
7) Actively participates in TACFEP (Texas Association of Collegiate Financial Education Professionals), Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA), and/or AEI (Alliance for Economic Inclusion) to develop partnerships that advance office goals.
8) Provides financial advising to students in-person, via phone and email, on topics such as paying for college, searching and applying for scholarships, student loans, managing cash flow, savings, credit reports and scores, car ownership, and identity theft.
9) Refers students to college and community resources that support student persistence and graduation from ACC.
10) Collects and tracks data, and compiles reports for internal and external stakeholders.
11) Ensures compliance with Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant guidelines.

Additional Job Specific Duties
* May provide ongoing advising to students in the emergency savings program.
* May develop program educational materials.
* May provide direct supervision to the Peer Money Mentors.
* May recruit and select student cohorts for the Peer Money Mentor Program.
* May develop and deliver training curriculum to the Peer Money Mentors.

Knowledge
* Knowledge of personal finance topics relevant to community college students.
* Understanding of the mission, philosophy, and general academic program requirements of community colleges.

Skills
* Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
* Effective planning, organizing, communication (both verbally and in writing), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, including use of initiative, tact, and discretion, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
* Working effectively with a diverse and multi-cultural student body and staff.
* Adeptness to interact effectively with students of diverse socio-economic and academic backgrounds.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and work-related information.
* Presentation skills to groups of various sizes.
* Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion in analyzing and resolving confidential and sensitive situations with minimal supervision.

Technology Skills
* Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.

Required Work Experience
* Two years related work experience.

Preferred Work Experience
* Experience working in a financial aid office or in a financial literacy program.
* Experience working one-on-one with college students in an advising, counseling, or coaching capacity.

Required Education
* Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education
* Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in Personal Financial Planning, Finance, Education, Counseling, or Communications.

Special Requirements
* Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel between multiple campus locations.

Other Preferred Qualifications
* CFP (Certified Financial Planner), AFC (Accredited Financial Counselor), FFC (Financial Fitness Coach), or APFC (Accredited Personal Financial Coach) designation, or equivalent.

Physical Requirements
* Work is performed in a variety of settings including office and classroom.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling,
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

$41,304 - $59,006
