Surgical Inpatient Opportunities: Microvascular Unit Patient Population: Microvascular and Specialty Surgery: Reconstructive/Plastics, ENT, VIP, Bariatric, Oral Surgery, Medical Overflow, etc.; The only ones doing microvascular surgeries in the state; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; 27 bed unit Orthopedics (Ortho) Unit Patient Population: Ortho patients from PACU, ICU, ED, and direct admits; Some patients come from all over the country for the Ortho physicians they have; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Trauma Unit Patient Population: TBI, Wound, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gunshot Wounds, Falls, Psych, etc.; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Abdominal Transplant Unit Patient Population: Hematology, nephrology, hepatobiliary surgeries, auto islet cell transplant, living liver transplants, living kidney transplants, cadaveric liver, kidney, pancreas, and uterus transplants; Largest transplant center in the state! The first to perform uterus transplant in the U.S.; Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 Urology Unit Patient Population: Urology, Colon, Rectal; This unit supports a nationally recognized colorectal surgery program; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Acute Care/Medicine Opportunities: Internal Medicine Unit Patient Population: Nephrology, Hepatology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, and Gastrointestinal; Patient Ratios: 1:5 Medicine Telemetry Unit Patient Population: Nephrology, Hepatology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Chronic Cardiac Disease and Gastrointestinal; Patient Ratios: 1:4 Neuro Telemetry Unit Patient Population: Stroke, Surgeries (Brain, neck and back), Seizure and Altered Mental Status; Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Day shift and 1:4-5 for Night shift Intermediate Cardiac Unit Patient Population: Heart arrhythmias, Chest pain, Post Cardiac Procedures, Renal Failure, Pneumonia, Sepsis, CHF, Cardiac Drips, as well as some neurological patients.; Patient Ratios: 1:4 Pulmonary Medicine Unit Patient Population: COPD, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Geriatrics, Nephrology, Respiratory Disease Management, COVID-19; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Oncology Opportunities: Surgical Oncology Unit Patient Population: Gynecology, Thyroid, Pancreas, Whipple, Skin, Stomach, Breast, and Plastics Oncology; Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Day and Night shift Medical Oncology Unit Patient Population: Solid and Liquid cancers in need of Chemotherapy or Medical Treatment and Patients in all phases of Cancer Care from Initial Diagnosis to End of Life transition; Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Day shift and 1:5 for Night shift Hematology Oncology Unit Patient Population: Hematology, Pre/Post Bone Marrow transplant, Solid tumor oncology, Research trial, and Patients in all phases of Cancer Care from Initial Diagnosis to End of Life transition; Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Day shift and 1:5 for Night shift Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Patient Population: Bone Marrow Transplant recipients, Oncology Critically Ill (ICU), Oncology Telemetry, Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cells (CAR-T) recipients, and Phase One or High Acuity Research trial patients; Patient Ratios: 1:3 for Day shift and 1:4 for Night shift and 1:2 ICU **Existing Baylor employees not eligible for the sign on bonus.
