Responsibilities:




  • Lead a team that is responsible for implementing, with the support of Information Technology (IT), various new technology and application enhancements associated with engineering and real-time operations. Such applications include: New Geographic Information System (GIS), new Outage Management System (OMS); and other emerging technologies such as DMS and DERMs.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of the above applications by ensuring that the business requirements are met and that a robust change management strategy is developed and executed as part of this program.
  • Oversee the GIS and Work Process/Systems groups.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple business functions across the Enterprise, including: Operations, IT, Customer Care, Regulatory and Finance.
  • Attend or participate in applicable industry forms to represent Duquesne Light.

Education/Experience










  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of prior management experience
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope



Required Skills:



  • Excellent analytical skills required to assess information and make timely decisions relating to the program. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, to accurately and effectively communicate information to both team members and executive leadership. Extensive knowledge in project management is preferred.

  • Focus on developing and exercising business plans, policies and procedures that are directly aligned to the organizations strategy for given area.
  • Key member of the management team representing the organization in dealings with clients and external bodies.
  • Actively participates in proactive planning.
  • Seasoned leader with extensive business experience. Deep functional expertise and significant product knowledge.
  • Will assist with day to day management of operational execution as warranted when issues arise.



Decision making Impact:



  • Identifies emerging practices from best practices, and proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements.
  • Improves on existing processes and systems using a high-level of interpretive skills and analysis.
  • Defines broad-based solutions that may require consideration of multiple work dimensions (e.g. people, process, technology).
  • Considers implications of solutions on other areas within organization and to the business of the organization.
