Associate Director, Cognitive - Remote

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Cognitive to join our Digital Nexus organization. This is a remote work opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all Cognitive projects and Cognitive and Artificial Intelligence center of excellence; Lead all phases of the system development and implementation process including analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support for the client area's application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms
  • Function as a primary client contact responsible for fulfilling project requirements; Coordinate activities with IT management; Responsible for project planning, scheduling, status reporting and project budgets; Establish and analyze staffing requirements within guidelines; Responsible for implementing projects consistent with long-range IT plans and installation standards
  • Develop and execute an application roadmap for existing applications including technology upgrades, maintenance and issue resolution; Consult with functional management in the analysis of short- and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements, hardware and software on the client area(s) applications and systems
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations; Perform related duties as assigned or requested; Manager Cognitive and Artificial Intelligence projects
  • Set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; and foster the development of high-performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization
  • Participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent and progressive experience including five years in Cognitive, Machine Learning and NLP; Java and Spring Boot experience are required as well as experience with containerized systems using Kubernetes (or similar) container orchestration
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Familiar with test-driven development and service-oriented architecture; Demonstrates good understanding of microservice architecture and design; Demonstrates good understanding of SOLID principles; Demonstrates good understanding of Kafka (or similar) event stream systems
  • Understanding of Jenkins (or similar) CI/CD; Experience with REST APIs
  • Experience with at least one modern front-end JS framework (Angular, React, Vue.js, Svelte) would be a significant plus; Understanding of OAuth authentication is a plus; Familiarity with cognitive technology (IBM Watson, Azure Machine Learning) a plus
