Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Scheduler in Women's Services, you will perform secretarial functions including interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, office staff, and other hospital personnel. You will register new patients, enter patient orders electronically, and keep patient information confidential.

  • You will answer phones, take messages, and relay messages
  • You will transcribe or enter orders and maintain chart information
  • You will order supplies on a regular basis
  • You will keep files orderly and print off patient information as needed
  • You will prepare charts for new patients and organize charts for discharged patients, and ensure that charts are complete and accurate
  • You will enter all physician orders, including medication orders
  • You will provide assistance, guidance, and direction to patients, visitors, nurses and physicians
  • You will answer call lights and assist with sending specimens to lab as needed
  • You will interview patients to obtain all necessary account information
  • You will secure signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, insurance benefits, and payment of services


What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Previous clerical experience in the healthcare or hospital field - preferred
  • Medical terminology knowledge - preferred
