POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to equip the individual to build internal and external relationships to analyze, buy, and transport feedstocks throughout Chevron REG's robust production network. The global supply and trading intern will build their foundation and understanding in supply demand economics, decision making, and risk analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform supply demand analysis, studying market conditions, and other key economic drivers
  • Relate profitability, input costs, and strategic planning
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders: logistics, trading, accounting, etc.
  • Conduct research on commodities and trends
  • Investigating new risk management tactics
  • Formulating a recommendation based upon your analysis
  • Properly documenting and supporting your research and analysis
  • Develop materials for internal and external meetings
  • Collection of published data related to commodity trading
  • Assembly of market intelligence from industry professionals

Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be available for daily work and overtime as required
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers (oral and written)
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to use office equipment (computer, copy/fax machine, telephone, postage meter, etc)
  • Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Provide suggestions to offer alternative perspectives to situations
  • Strong analytical, research, writing and communication skills
  • Work independently or with others as a team to complete assigned projects
  • Provide personal contact information on an as needed basis for official business purposes

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor's degree - Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree

**Senior or Junior status required

Experience Required: Financial analysis and analytical business experience preferred

**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred

Skills Required:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)

Advanced math, finance, and accounting skills

Strong analytical research

Special skills or knowledge preferred:

Strong interpersonal skills

Knowledge in data analysis
