Job Responsibilities: Viasat is looking for a AEM Software Engineer to help drive the experiences and capabilities of our global viasat.com website. The viasat.com team owns the customer experience, capabilities, and technology that drives customer awareness and acquisition, using the Adobe AEM content management system and integrating to our commerce platforms. This person would be involved in the day-to-day improvement of viasat.com and would use their breadth and depth of software engineering skill and optimally craft and implement solutions to expand the features and functionality of the product. The ideal candidate has had history in conceptualising, creating, and implementing digital projects. This person has experience translating the team epics and stories into a functional solution that meets the definition of done.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to build detailed designs.
  • Build practical solutions to fulfill business requirements.
  • Perform hands-on application implementation, system configuration, external system integration, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to test the system and verify that solutions will meet the business requirements.
  • Participate in key meetings including requirement sessions, grooming, planning, status, and system demos.
  • Improve the company AEM core module to follow a modular approach and prepare for plans of extension and expansion into new sections of the site.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience implementing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) content management system (6.3 and later required) from both a front-end and back-end perspective.
  • Expertise in full stack technologies, spanning from HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (ES6, Webpack, Sass), HTL, to Java J2EE.
  • Strong understanding of building templates, components, experience fragments, policies, workflows, and permissions.
  • Experience with crafting, developing and supporting AEM in full life cycle projects.
  • Experience with Java J2EE, Maven, JCR, Sling, and OSGi.
  • Used AEM to support an international web presence with multiple countries and languages.
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud Manager pipelines and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using GIT as part of a development team.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, etc.).
  • Use standard processes for migrating across DEV, STAGE, and PROD environments.
  • Experience with various author, publisher, and dispatcher server instances.
  • Expert understanding of caching strategy using AEM Dispatcher and CDN for highly performing and scalable web sites.
  • Experience in an Agile and Scrum environment.
  • Outstanding problem solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Process-oriented mentality with strong organizational skills and eye for detail.
  • Experience working with geographically disperse team.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience
Preferences:
  • Adobe Developer and / or Architecture Certifications.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Integration to other Adobe tools like Launch, Analytics, and Target.
  • Implementing an international site with multiple locations and languages.
  • Knowledge and experience in enterprise web strategy.
  • Experience with unit testing, test driven development and automated testing
  • Good understanding of the agile methodology.
  • Experience with AWS networking tools such as Cloudfront, Certificate Manager, and Lambda on the Edge.

For Colorado-based jobs only: The minimum for this position is $141,300 annually; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
