The Opportunity:

That's why we need you, a DevOps engineer, to help us shorten the time it takes to get critical tools developed and into the hands of end users who need them to serve the healthcare needs of our nation's Veterans. The mission doesn't stop there though. We also need to monitor and measure application performance to ensure the Veterans can access the information and applications they always need.

As a DevOps engineer on our team, you'll help streamline our software development life cycle from requirements to monitoring in production. You'll incorporate open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to cut down on tedious, boring tasks and free up the team's developers to do what they do best - innovate. You'll work with the team to implement continuous integration and delivery to limit manual testing and troubleshooting. This is an opportunity to build your experience in DevOps while developing software that will improve veteran's access to healthcare. You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Java, Delphi, and C#
  • Experience with Object oriented programming (OOP), Model View Controller (MVC) architecture pattern
  • Experience with Event Driven Programming framework, including Delphi, ASP.NET Windows Forms, or ASP.NET Web Forms
  • Experience with Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs), RPC, REST, SOAP and interfacing applications with databases, including VA FileMan preferred, SQL or NoSQL
  • Experience with creating and utilizing database queries, understanding of database schemas, and working with large volumes of records
  • Knowledge of enterprise web frameworks, including J2EE ASP.NET and Maven
  • Ability to deploy applications with WebLogic
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in Application Development role

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with developing Electronic Health Record (EHR) software
  • Experience with VistA within the Department of Veteran's Affairs
  • Experience with working directly with non-technical customer stakeholders
  • Experience with GitHub and the Atlassian Suite
  • Experience with MUMPS

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Colorado: $130,000 - $140,000 (annualized USD)

New York (including New York City): $140,000 - $150,000 (annualized USD)
