Come put your software engineering skills into action! The Leidos Defense Group has an opening for a talented Software Engineer to come join our team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will join a dynamic Agile software team creating simulated driver training software to support the Army. Primary Responsibilities

These are some of the cool things you will be doing:

• Design, develop, document, troubleshoot, and debug software source code using modern software development languages and tools.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters.
• Use Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with your teams.
• Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing.
• Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them.
• Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
• Develop maintainable code that matches specification.
• Take ownership of technical problems.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful in this role you must have the following experience/skill sets:

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with C++/Java/C# and object-oriented programming
• Working knowledge of GTK and GUI interfaces
• Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
• Understanding of software development process fundamentals.
• Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
• Requires US citizenship and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

You'll wow us even more if you have any of the following:

• Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
• Experience with the Ada programming language
• Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows, VM VirtualBox, LINUX, etc.).
• Familiarity with the DIS and/or CIGI protocols
• Active DoD security clearance.
