Early Career Embedded Flight Software Engineer

As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for designing, building, and continuously improving New Glenn's avionics flight software and development tools, allowing us to launch and land rockets faster, cheaper, and better. Together, our forward-thinking team develops the avionics software and the tools that enable us to deliver safe and well-tested software to our vehicles.

This role can sit in either Huntsville AL, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, Seattle WA, El Segundo CA, Woodland Hills CA, Space Coast FL, or Reston VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on the BSP, drivers, middleware, and application software for New Glenn avionics boxes.
  • Develop tools supporting development and testing of our avionics system.
  • Participate in all software development life cycle activities including requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of electrical, mechanical, aerospace and systems engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience writing low level software, for example bare metal systems, kernel development, drivers.
  • Strong C or C++ skills.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience with real-time embedded and/or safety-critical software development and debugging.
  • Understanding of communications protocols like TCP/IP, UART, SPI and others, packet formats and serialization.
  • Experience developing software that directly interacts with hardware or programmable logic.
  • M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $82,500-$121,000

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $90,000-$132,000
