Cost Data Analyst

The Opportunity:

Do you want to use your analysis skills to help the Navy get the most out of their funding? When it comes to considering the costs of building and maintaining Navy systems, you know there is more to it than parts and labor.

In this role, you'll provide comprehensive decision analytic support to the Navy acquisition life cycle process by developing detailed and defendable business case and cost models. This includes collaborating with stakeholders and technical subject matter experts to define program requirements, normalize and analyze data, and present baseline and alternative results. From modeling with dynamic and complex formulas in Microsoft Excel, to quantifying cost uncertainty with Monte Carlo discrete event simulation, you'll use your experience in analytics and data visualization to help the client in decision-making.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with cost estimating and analysis

  • Experience developing presentations for clients that clearly articulate ground rules and assumptions, and analysis results

  • Ability to develop dynamic, logical, and documented cost models

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with DoD acquisition and support of major milestones

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Ball, Python, or R

  • Knowledge of core estimating competencies, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), escalation and inflation, and risk and uncertainty

  • Knowledge of cost-related Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) products

  • Certified Cost Estimator and Analyst (CCEA) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
