Verdant Technologies has a challenging career opportunity available at our Corporate HQ in Centennial, Colorado for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to manage all aspects of the company's growing accounting function. Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reporting and internal controls as well as support ad hoc analysis and projects, especially as the company expands internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the company's accounting function, including regulatory reporting and compliance with state filings
  • Perform monthly accounting close, account analysis/reconciliation and prepare financial packages for monthly, quarterly, and year-end analysis
  • Manage and implement accounting operations, processes and financial policies in accordance with GAAP
  • Recommend, establish and maintain internal controls
  • Establish KPIs and assist management with important financial decisions through research and reporting
  • Build and manage the accounting team
  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset and strong attention to detail and follow up
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, limited direction and an ever-changing environment
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, meet or exceed deadlines and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to perform under deadlines
  • Manufacturing and cost accounting experience
  • Ability to quickly learn various tax and compliance regulations in new geographies as company expands
  • Strong organization and project management skills

Education and Experience:

  • 4 - 7 years of relevant experience, with minimum of 4 years of progressive experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or CA preferred)
  • MBA and/or CPA, a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP, a plus
