Covia is looking for a dynamic Lab Technician/Lab Loadout who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Wedron Silica location in Wedron, IL.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Truck/Rail loading and operating scales
  • Perform laboratory tests according to prescribed standards to determine product quality
  • Utilizing various computer applications to compile, record and report test results
  • Generating and completing paperwork for bulk orders
  • Following Covia, MSHA and OSHA safety standards at all times
  • Working in a physically demanding work environment
  • Ability to collect, interpret, analyze, and present data
  • Willingness to work overtime and cover off shifts



The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, focus in Excel
  • Basic mathematics, computer skills, statistical analysis and particle size distributions
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate daily loading tasks
  • Creating and following laboratory testing procedures
  • Working knowledge of IFS preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required
