Summary

Maine Medical Partners Pediatric Specialty Care is seeking a FT BE/BC Pediatric Pulmonologist to join three additional pulmonologists and a nurse practitioner in Portland, Maine. Being BE/BC in sleep medicine is desirable but not required for the position, and applicants interested in general pulmonology are encouraged to apply. As Maine's only pediatric pulmonary specialty group, we care for children from all of Maine and parts of New Hampshire. We are located in southern Maine, but have outreach clinics in central Maine to improve access for children in rural parts of the state. We have an active bronchoscopy service, participate in an aerodigestive clinic, a muscular dystrophy clinic, and manage children on home ventilation. In addition to our outpatient services, the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology provides care for children at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, a 96-bed hospital that includes a 50-bed neonatal ICU and 8 bed PICU within Maine Medical Center. Finally, we are associated with an American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited Sleep Medicine Center. Academic responsibilities include providing education to the pediatric residency program and students from Tufts Medical School's Maine track program.

Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds, and is the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The candidate hired would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and the position will involve teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program.

Situated on the Maine coast, Portland offers the best of urban sophistication combined with small-town friendliness. The area provides four-season recreational opportunities, such as skiing, hiking, sailing, and miles of beautiful beaches. Just two hours north of Boston, this is an exceptionally diverse and vibrant community. Portland was voted #8 best place to live and #1 safest place to live by U.S. News & World Report for 2021-2022.

Maine Medical Partners is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive environment that is welcoming to diverse faculty.
