The Opportunity:

The Parking Patroller position is integral to ensuring compliance of UCF regulations 6.007 and 6.008 as it pertains to vehicles having a valid permit when parked on campus. They are responsible for maintaining fair and equitable parking enforcement through established Florida state statutes and local ordinances; with the comprehension of 80+ variations of parking citations. The parking enforcement team is also responsible for operating trucks equipped with license plate recognition software throughout 12 garages and 40+ lots across 4 campuses to ensure permit compliance and to promote public safety. In addition to this, parking enforcement also provides motorist assists to the UCF community, such as battery jumps, tire inflations and door openings.

Responsibilities:


  • Enforces parking regulations to ensure vehicles parked on campus are in compliance with UCF parking regulations and Florida state statutes.

  • Installs immobilization devices on vehicles that have multiple unpaid citations or other outstanding parking violations.

  • Assists with providing information, directions, and general assistance to constituents.

  • Renders assistance to stranded motorists, unlocks vehicles as requested, provide fuel if needed, or contacting tow truck.

  • Assists with ensuring the license plate recognition (LPR) software on vehicles are fully operational on a daily basis.

  • Reports issues with LPR to immediate supervisor.

  • Helps to distribute cones, pedestrian devices, barricades for Emergency Operating Center and large-scale events.

  • Helps to install, remove, and inventory immobilization devices, understands 80 variations of citations that align with parking regulations and request of Police.

  • Provides feedback of enforcement situations to intermediate supervisor and follows up with all written requests.

  • Reports suspicious behavior and activity directly to university police department.

  • Helps with training of new parking patrollers.

  • Reports hazards and assists with basic maintenance of parking lots and garages during non-peak periods.

  • Assists with overseeing patrol vehicle assignments, and citation issuance.

  • Helps to conduct new employee orientation when necessary.

  • Helps to initiate towing of illegally parked vehicles in 24 hours reserved spaces or other restricted areas.

  • Assists with towing vehicles from unauthorized areas for football game days.

  • Assists in completing towing reports and communicates to necessary parties of the towed vehicles.

  • Archives compulsory documentation associated with the towing of vehicles.

  • Assists with space reservations for special guests or events operations as needed.

  • Assists with events, which may occur on the weekends.

  • Assists with deploying event equipment and reserving designated spaces.

  • Assists with managing parking capacities and traffic control during events.

  • Helps to monitor garage closures due to emergencies or other events.

  • Provides other duties as requested.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to .

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous customer service experience.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

This position requires a background check and a valid Class E driver's license (regular license), as it may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
