Role Description

As a member of the Zoetis U.S. Commercial portfolio & Brand Strategy team, this role provides consistency across all US Commercial Business Units. Based at either our Parsippany site or remote, they will be responsible for supporting Marketing for all Species, partnering closely with assigned colleagues and people managers in all areas of Commercial Operations. He/she will also work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of Marketing programs and initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

Individual responsibilities include:

  • Develops deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and key drivers of brand performance
  • Defines end-to-end TA and brand strategies (incl. competitive positioning, VHT, channel, pet owner, Public Relations, etc. )
  • Maximizes brand performance: P&L management, brand forecasting, pricing & GTN by TA/Brand
  • Determines resource allocation across all customer and promotional channels
  • Develops centralized brand collateral relevant across all customer and promotional channels
  • Develops strategic and tactical plans; creates playbooks to guide execution for channels
  • Ensure alignment across marketing & sales (creates teams and forums for engagement, strategy discussions, competitive intel sharing)
  • Executes marketing promotions

Shared responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with C&S, Retail, and Independent Petcare on forecast by channel, which feeds into overall brand forecast
  • Partners with C&S and Independent Petcare to develop bespoke channel-specific collateral
  • Builds and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of end-to-end strategy
  • Collaborates with Portfolio strategy and other TA leads on integrated, umbrella Pet Owner strategy
  • Engages with GMS to optimize forecasting and supply plans
  • Partners with GCD on commercial lifecycle planning efforts
  • Provides input and support on Business Development evaluations
  • Leads Operating Plan, President's Review, and Board updates, in collaboration with channel leads

  • Assesses and coaches individual and team performance to exceed business goals.
  • Coaches and directs Team Leads and Marketing Manager's in developing comprehensive marketing objectives, strategies and plans and in identifying and including key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Actively coaches direct reports to optimize their performance and develop their capabilities for advancement and future opportunities.
  • Fosters an environment where coaching and feedback is open, ongoing and consistent.

Qualifications

  • BS /BA and relevant experience required. MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of related experience and a proven record demonstrating successful branding, strategy development and communications management.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to manage budgets and expenses.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing brand strategies, forecasting, programs and tactics to achieve and surpass market share and revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and player/coach and influence without authority.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to oversee complex, cross-functional projects that require input from many internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills; strong negotiation/persuasion skills.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in marketing disciplines; brand management; market research; communications strategy; customer insight; and marketing material development.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and ability to learn Zoetis systems)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful, fair decisions based on relevant info.
  • Ability to interact with/influence Sr. Management and peers with confidence and conviction.
