No. of positions: 1 -Level 7 (Restricted HS Lineworkers) or Qualified Journey Lineworkers and above are considered fully-qualified bidders.

Overall Purpose

The Apprenticeship classification provides for progression to the Senior Operator position based upon a pay for skills format with pay increases after skills are successfully demonstrated.

All Employees are required to remain in the program through completion unless he/she is a successful candidate for an equal or higher rated position for which he/she is qualified. Employees will be considered category 2 bidders (see note below) for all positions they apply for during the apprenticeship program and for three (3) years after the completion of the program. An employee who enters this program at level 8 or higher will be considered a category 2 bidder for all positions they apply for during the apprenticeship program and for one (1) year after the completion of the program.

All terms and conditions of the Senior Operator Apprentice Program agreement and MOU dated June 12, 2020 between the Company and IBEW L29 shall apply.

Education / Experience Requirements:

* Only regular, full time employees are eligible to enter into the program* Applicable employees must successfully pass the CAST test as required.

* Applicable Employees must successfully pass a wood pole school administered by the Company, i.e. individuals applying for this program must demonstrate the ability to work in the air from a platform truck and climb wood poles among other duties prior to being qualified for this program as required.

Bidding into the program (Qualified Employee):

* A fully qualified lineworker would enter the program at level 8 (Troubleshooter new rate $48.28) and shall complete the remainder of the Sr Operator Apprentice program. A Journey lineworker will enter as a Troubleshooter (new rate $48.28). Anyone that is above the 9.2 rate will be red circled at their current rate until they progress to the new Sr Operator 9.6 rate.

Employees who enter the apprentice program as a "qualified employee":

* Any individual who enters this apprenticeship program shall continue to successfully progress through each training level and has no ability to restrict or hold at any level within the line of progression.* All Employees are required to remain in the program through completion unless he/she is a successful candidate for an equal or higher rated position for which he/she is qualified. Employees will be considered category 2 bidders (see note below) for all positions they apply for during the apprenticeship program and for three (3) years after the completion of the program. An employee who enters this program at level 8 or higher will be considered a category 2 bidder for all positions they apply for during the apprenticeship program and for one (1) year after the completion of the program.

* With regards to wood pole climbing, any individual who enters this program must initially and continually maintain their climbing qualifications as an essential requirement for this position.
