The Opportunity:

UCF's Recreation and Wellness Center seeks an Assistant Director, Campus Recreation to join their team! The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for assisting with the operation of the Recreation and Wellness Center. The position will oversee a team of student employees and full-time staff that manage the pools, building, and outside facilities.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for assisting the Associate Director with overseeing daily operations.

  • Supervision of the Member Services, Communication Center, Aquatics, and Building Managers of approximately 80 student staff and two full-time direct reports. Areas of responsibility include recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and overall development.

  • Oversee the four sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, and outdoor basketball complex.

  • Responsible for the coordination of equipment checkout, facility inventory, and ordering of supplies.

  • Collect, organize, and evaluate statistical information for facility usage. Assist with departmental assessment. Provide written reports on facility activities for the RWC.

  • Coordinate operations with AV/sound equipment for special events for the RWC and assist with special events. Assist with technology as it pertains to facility operations (access management, sales, scheduling, and reporting).

  • Council facility patrons, guest complaints, and conduct of patrons.

  • Responsible for Risk Management pertaining to areas of responsibility.

  • Implement membership plans to meet targeted revenue figures set annually.

  • Coordinate facility improvement projects for the RWC.

  • Responsible for budget and management for assigned areas.

  • Work closely with Student Government to meet the goals, objectives, and expectations of their primary funding agencies.

  • Facilitate and/or serve on RWC, SSWB, and UCF committees.

  • Implement sustainability goals for the RWC facility.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 4+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Campus recreation experience.

  • Facilities management experience with strong student development experience.

  • Experience in campus recreation technologies to assist with data collection and assessment.
