This includes the characterization of analog materials in the laboratory to interpret telescopic and spacecraft-based remote sensing observations. For this position, we seek someone with expertise in analyzing and characterizing samples from planetary bodies including asteroids and the Moon and linking those characterizations to observations of those bodies. Responsibility: In addition to conducting independent research, the postdoc will be expected to teach one physics or astronomy course (see preferred qualifications for list of possible courses) during UCF's fall and spring semesters. Additional expectations include: This is a 12-month position with possibility of renewal pending funding and satisfactory performance and pays $60,000 annually. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Planetary Sciences, Planetary Geology, Physics, Astronomy or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: We look to recruit a postdoc that has had some amount of teaching experience (e.g., university lectures, TA experience including lab courses) and would be capable of teaching courses including Introduction to Astronomy (AST2002), Solar System Astronomy (AST3110), Planetary Geophysics (AST4152), Asteroids Comets Meteorites (AST4142), Life in the Universe (AST2037), Experimental Methods in Astronomy (AST4700), and Earth's Climate (MET2104).
