Electronic Health Record Specialist

Summary

MaineHealth is actively recruiting and accepting applications for Electronic Health Record Training Specialist. Once trained, this will be a hybrid role, which would include travel to facilities to conduct training. This is a Monday through Friday opportunity. The successful candidate must have experience in hospice or home health care.

Position Summary

This position provides primary clinical support to staff for learning and maintaining the shared electronic health record. Develops information systems and work processes that enhance and support direct care services, using clinical expertise and adult learning theory. Position reports to the Quality Director.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)





    1. Education:

      • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical field with 3-5 years of clinical experience that includes more than one year of home health, and at least one year of informatics experience. OASIS and EPIC work experience are preferred. Or:
      • Associates Degree in a clinical field, with 5 or more years of clinical experience that includes more than one year of home health, and at least one of informatics experience. OASIS and EPIC work experience are preferred.


    2. License/Certifications: Credentialed Trainer in Epic. State of Maine licensure in clinical field. Current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle, with a vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy. Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers.
    3. Experience: N/A
    4. Expert working knowledge of advanced electronic health record systems, preferably EPIC.
    5. Demonstrated competency in systems analysis, applications testing, and system evaluation.
    6. Competency in adult education methods and proven experience in effective teaching.
    7. Proficiency with PPS, OASIS, home care regulations for licensing and reimbursement.
    8. Proficient in-home care clinical electronic documentation practices.
