Proposal Editor

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for editing proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or other opportunities for potential clients. Work with the team to improve the quality, clarity, organization, customer focus, and persuasiveness of the writing by focusing on making the text clear, concise, and correct. Work independently with regular guidance and feedback. Provide one-voice to minimize style differences from multiple authors and contributors. Edit sections for grammar, style, consistency, and correctness. Improve readability and clarity of text by using active voice and concise language and minimizing jargon. Improve customer focus by placing benefits before features, linking benefits to features, and naming the customer before the offeror. Ensure the proper contextual integrity of each completed proposal section by reviewing edits with the respective SME/contributor. Work with the Proposal Coordinator to support correct usage of acronyms. Report to Proposal Manager with questions regarding standardization, formatting, and schedule. Provide and schedule a technical edit for readability, copy edit for Booz Allen style consistency, or proofread for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and other errors depending on proposal needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in using MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive to effectively communicate with team members in geographically disparate locations
  • Bachelor's degree in a writing field such as Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Communications, or Marketing
  • Ability to provide a writing sample

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in proposal or other editing preferred
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent time management and organizational skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $42,600.00 to $87,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
