Student Success and Well-Being - Office of Undergraduate Admissions

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the university in meeting its strategic enrollment goals and fulfilling the UCF Strategic Plan. It is responsible for coordinating the identification, recruitment, admission and enrollment of all undergraduate first-time-in-college, transfer, non-degree, dual enrollment, early admission and non-Florida public institution transient students. The office leverages the UCF brand to market, communicate and engage with broadly diverse, talented, and academically qualified students who will enrich our community and achieve academic and personal excellence.

The Opportunity:

UCF's Student Success and Well-Being Office of Undergraduate Admissions is accepting applications for a Student Admissions Counselor II. Under the direction of the Director Strategic Recruitment and External Relations, this position is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Responsibilities:



  • Works with the team that oversees the enrollment and marketing plan for the university including the recruitment, application review, territory management, and travel for a specific territory or target market.

  • Assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of recruitment activities directly related to targeted groups, including but not limited to Decision Days, Open Houses, college fairs and high school visits both face-to-face and virtual.

  • Represents the university at public and private high school/college visitations (including conferring with college counselors and student groups), college nights and panel presentations to parents, students and other constituent populations.

  • Reviews and evaluates admission applications and academic credentials. Computes high school and college grade point averages for applicants in compliance with the State of Florida and university admissions standards.

  • Renders admissions decision on these applications.

  • Maintains enrollment figures of targeted groups for university information and assists in providing annual reports.

  • Works closely with on-campus offices and departments that impact the recruitment of students to ensure admission and enrollment processes are followed and information is conveyed in order to meet university enrollment goals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and the Director for Strategic Recruitment and External Relations.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in working with high achievers and other target populations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.

  • A strong sense of initiative and creativity.

  • Previous experience in admissions.
