Job Summary

Process assigned requisitions and originate purchase orders in compliance within state, sponsored and federal regulations. Monitor activity relative to contract provisions from inception to completion. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: GT faculty, staff, students and the general public. This position typically will advise and counsel: GT faculty and staff. This will position supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare purchase orders based on requirements as contained in purchase requisitions.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate activities relative to provisions of assigned contracts; take follow-up action as required.

Job Duty 3 -
Interface with GT faculty and staff on cross-functional strategic sourcing commodity teams relative to investigating/resolving procurement issues.

Job Duty 4 -
Interact with general public and suppliers regarding procurement policy and process.

Job Duty 5 -
Adhere to provisions of cost containment strategies and supplier management programs.

Job Duty 6 -
Encourage/educate customers on benefits from use of automated procurement system (Buzz Mart).

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree

Proposed Salary

This is a salaried position, and the proposed salary for this position if between $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires basic knowledge of and skill in applying business purchasing processes and practices. This includes skills in negotiation, written and spoken communications and attention to detail. Use of standard office and specialized computer applications is also required.
