Job Summary |
This person will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the surgical services department in the small animal teaching hospital, this includes but is not limited to, stocking, inventory, cleaning, ordering supplies, and assisting technicians with surgical cases.

Essential Functions |
- Maintain stock in operating rooms, sterile supply room, sterile processing area
- Puts away all supply orders in a timely manner
- Maintains assigned daily, weekly and monthly cleaning responsibilities in the surgical services department utilizing proper protocols
- Cleans and disinfects operating rooms after procedures following proper decontamination protocols
- Assists technicians with operating room maintenance during surgical cases - this is includes opening items aseptically, assisting with patient transport, assisting with gowning and gloving of OR faculty, residents, and 4th year veterinary students, confirming patient checklist.
- Picks up items from pharmacy and puts items away accordingly
- Communicates regularly with immediate supervisor if there is equipment that is in need of repairs
- Assists all surgical services staff as needed
- Prioritize tasks to promote quality patient care and timely delivery of items
- May perform pre-surgical aseptic prep and other patient care duties under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinary technician
- May assist with sterile processing duties including instrument cleaning, decontamination, sterile preparation and sterilization

Undergraduate student enrolled at Auburn University |
Preferred Qualifications |
Experience in a veterinary hospital or experience with surgical services |

$10.00/hour |
