Job Description

SUMMARY
The Product Information Center- Support Associate is responsible for assisting in the set up and maintenance of new suppliers, material records, resolving issues as it relates to material setup and maintenance. This position will handle the Master File Data which includes Supplier, Material, Purchase Information Records and Source Lists.

RELATIONSHIPS

The position reports to the Product Information Manager and will have daily working relations with in PIC with NMR, Quality, and Supplier Information. In addition this person works closely with the NMR Supervisor and department peers to assist where necessary. This position interacts with members of other business units including but not limited to: Warehouse, Operations, Marketing, Sales and regular interactions with Suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Use databases to import, export and create data within the Material Master, Purchase Information Records, and Source Lists
* Work with suppliers to provide New Item Setup information utilizing predefined templates that will be updated in mass into SAP
* Review worksheets returned from suppliers for completeness and accuracy
* Work with suppliers to obtain missing data and/or clarify questionable data returned on supplier worksheets
* Use Supplier web sites to obtain missing information
* Work with Supplier to update records through mass and manual processes (includes bar codes, cost, UOM, description, Manufacturing numbers, etc)
* Assist in forwarding product images to Marketing Services for use on the web and marketing materials
* Manages data within the Material Master pertaining to warehouse material setup and changes
* Update records related to the quality inspection process
* Update records relating to stock status changes
* Communicates necessary information to all appropriate parties involved in workflow
* Scan Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and New Supplier documents to OnBase
* Maintain current supplier information concerning address, phone, fax, e-mail and terms changes
* Contact current suppliers for updated documents as needed
* Assist with vacation coverage for Supplier Info, NMR & Quality mailboxes
* Escalates issues to PIC Manager for timely resolution
* Performs other duties as assigned

External Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequired: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 1+ year of relevant work experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Word and Excel and basic mathematics skills.

Preferred: Experience using SAP.
