St. Michael's Inc., an employee-owned company, has an opening for anAccountant Journeyman with experience delivering accounting performance capabilities to enable mission delivery to a large Federal Agency. Candidates should have experience in supporting mission delivery with informed decision-making by employing analytical capabilities and providing accounting transparency to support mission execution. Additionally, the Accountant Journeymanwill possess working knowledge in Financial Management, Budget, and Revenue. The selected candidate must be able to align with St. Michael's core values of Excellence in Reputation, Candor, Commitment, Teamwork, and Dependability.

Location: Washington (NCR), DC

Active Clearance required:Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance or possess an active Public Trust Clearance or higher.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Required:

  • Six (6) years of experience in accounting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical accounting data.
  • Ability to read/interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
  • Experience and expertise in analyzing and identifying improvements needed to ad hoc accounting management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.

Desired:

  • Public Trust Clearance or higher

Duties Include:

  • Preparing accounting estimates and forecasts.
  • Providing accounting justifications by compiling, comparing, and correlating information about current and future programs.
  • Uses automated accounting system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing assignments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint with expert knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.

Education:A Bachelor's degree is required in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline. Six (6) years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. An Associate's Degree plus Four (4) years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
