Location: Des Moines, IA or Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement system solutions that align with healthcare interoperability standards, particularly HL7 and FHIR, supporting our goals in healthcare insurance products and services.
  • Keep abreast of and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including the CMS Interoperability law, integrating these requirements into system architecture designs.
  • Collaborate within an Agile ecosystem, closely working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions within the SAFe framework.
  • Drive the adoption of AWS and other technologies, focusing on event-driven architecture, APIs, and service design, to enhance scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Lead and contribute to architectural reviews and discussions, offering clear guidance and decisions that propel projects forward.
  • Mentor team members on best practices, new technologies, and challenges in healthcare system architecture.



Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a specific focus on healthcare interoperability.
  • Extensive knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards, and a working understanding of the CMS Interoperability law.
  • Proven experience working within an Agile environment, with in-depth knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture.
  • Proven capability in designing and implementing event-driven architectures.
  • Strong skills in API and service design, emphasizing scalability, performance, and security.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.



Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $72K - 168K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
