Job Summary
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant to assist faculty and staff with daily, routine library operations (Summer 2024).

Essential Functions

  • Scanning title page, title page verso, table of contents and covers for print materials and sending the PDF to the cataloger
  • Scanning containers and disc surfaces for non-print materials
  • Viewing DVDs and filling out a worksheet for video credits
  • Creating item records, and attaching barcodes and sending materials to Physical Processing
  • Sending barcodes to cataloger for reclass books
  • Assisting with authority work
  • Transcribing Discover Auburn Lecture videos
  • Copying ad formatting tables of contents for e-books

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Pay Rate Starting at $7.50/hour
Work Hours Work hours are between 7:45am-4:00pm; Student will work up to 10 hours per week depending on availability and departmental needs.
