The IT Business Analyst will conduct HR IT process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary benefit analysis. Prepare functional, system, and program specifications for business unit initiatives. Lead teams in all HR and business analysis efforts. Serve as a technical leader within the Human Resources area, focusing on our
ERP system (currently Ellucian Banner), Timekeeping system (currently Kronos), and other software solutions. Collaborate with the Business & Administration Technology Team to enhance overall system performance and efficiency.

As an HR IT Business Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of aligning information technology solutions with Auburn University's HR initiatives. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that our systems support the needs of our Human Resources department.

Essential Functions |
- Leads the formulation and definition of systems scope and objectives based on user needs and a thorough understanding of applicable HR\business systems and University requirements.
- Leads and assists teams in the creation and modification of procedures to solve highly complex problems considering our system capacity and limitations, the needs of Business & Administration, and form of desired results. Creates and/or reviews process documents and technical specifications created by Business & Administration Leadership, and other team members and AU departments across campus.
- Responsible for the determination and recommendation of applications required for optimal problem solution within performance objectives, collaborating with other Business Analysts, Management, Functional Leaders within Business & Administration and OIT as needed.
- Leads cross-functional project teams and may oversee portions of the project life cycle. May lead or assist teams in project capacities including, but not limited to, requirements gathering, functional design, functional configuration, testing, documentation, and documentation review.
- Documents and Understands the HR processes being used within Business & Administration. Provides input into research and development initiatives for the implementation of new technologies for University adoption.
- Leads in the analysis of business user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Responsible for requirements planning and feasibility determination. Responsible for project capacities including, but not limited to, requirements, functional design, functional configuration, interfacing with Quality Assurance to complete testing, and documentation. Reviews documentation for updates, and other projects.
- May also work around and within the Finance side of Business & Administration Technology as needed for support\backup and overlapping areas of responsibility.

IT Business Analyst: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience
OR
Associate's Degree and 9 years of experience
OR
High School/
GED and 13 years of relevant IT experience to include business analyses
Sr. IT Business Analyst:
Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant IT experience to include business analyses |
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities |
- Understanding of the business environment of a large university system including the University system, its policies, and its operating procedures.
- Knowledge of HR and/or business systems analysis and current technological developments/trends.
- Current knowledge of relevant technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies with a detailed focus on deployment and integration.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

- Strong technical aptitude, problems solving and computer skills.
- Proficiency with professional IT systems, ERP and office applications.
