Updated: Apr 24, 2024 UC Title: MGD CARE SPEC 4 Position Number: 41084816 Reports to: Exec Director, Contracting Working Title: Sr. Contracts Manager Cost Center: Health Services Contracting (428514) Bargaining Unit: No Bargaining Unit FLSA: Exempt Date Created: 4/19/2024 Job Code: 005760 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for health services FFS and risk contracting for medical group contracts and facility contracts on behalf of UCI Health and our affiliates. The incumbent will establish, implement and maintain contract relationships with referral medical groups, referral hospitals, ancillary providers, health plans and other third-parties to enable patient referrals. In addition, incumbent is responsible for collaborating to execute the Contracting Department's goals and strategic plan. Salary Range: Annual Rate Minimum $100,600.00 Midpoint $145,700.00 Maximum $190,800.00 Required Qualifications: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Strong financial, analytical and planning skills to effectively evaluate projects and new business opportunities Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization Strong commitment to the values of the organization: Academic Achievement, Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence Minimum 3-4 years' experience working in contracting for a health plan, medical group or hospital, or an equivalent combination of work experience performing high level data analysis Two or more years' experience in managed care contract negotiations within a hospital, medical group or health plan environment Knowledge of California healthcare contracting and market Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to successfully represent UC Irvine Health to the external community Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in an academic medical setting Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
