Continuing Education Specialist

Position Summary:


The Continuing Education Specialist assists with the planning, development and coordination of major educational events by collaborating with various disciplines to identify educational needs, finding current references in literature, contacting speakers/authors, polishing presentations, and facilitating speaker contracts and travel arrangements. Assist with agenda and content creation; assure conflicts of interest have been addressed and disclosed appropriately; advertise events; summarize evaluations; and produce necessary certificates for licensure. Maintain continuing education content in learning management system. Manage databases and keep accurate records per continuing education accrediting organizations. Communicate with providers requesting education transcripts. Synthesizes evaluation data to provide outcomes and input for future planning. Relates trends and output to CE Coordinator as well as key stakeholder groups. Manages accreditation statuses and renewals by communicating with ASHA, ASRT, IDFPR, ASE, IMIA, CEAP, NAADAC, Joint Accreditation, etc. to meet criteria for continuing education, submit required data and applications, process invoices, and resolve issues. Provides training to various team members on continuing education application processes, various platforms and systems used, and department processes. Individual meetings with team members who are submitting individual activities requiring counseling and assistance with submitting applications.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Related Field

REMOTE REQUIREMENTS
Must live within a 90 mile radius to attend onsite conference days (25+ times a year)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years Customer Service

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Competency in Microsoft Office suite sufficient to set up, manipulate and chart data in Excel, write and edit correspondence and other materials in Word, use Outlook to help manage time, schedule meetings, and keep others informed. Database management skills sufficient to develop, modify and maintain databases, including use of a learning management system to enter and track training records (competencies) and create reports and FileMaker Pro. Ability to solve problems, accept accountability for results, engage in constructive and effective communication and provide superb customer care. Ability to work independently but contribute to a larger team. Competency in managing multiple projects.


Essential Functions:

  • Assesses educational needs, either through appropriate independent methods or by working with advisory committees or content owners.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and coordinates continuing educational programs in alignment with organizational objectives for staff at various organizational levels.
  • Provides oversight and facilitates conference planning that is in alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies to advertise educational events to appropriate target audiences while ensuring all accreditation requirements are met for compliance.
  • Maintain enduring continuing education content in learning management system and other settings, including but not limited to, uploading content, monitoring completion reports and issuing learner certificates.
  • Manages accreditation statuses and renewals by communicating with accrediting bodies to meet criteria for continuing education, submit required data and applications, process invoices, and resolve issues.
  • Provides training to various team members on continuing education application processes, various platforms and systems used, and department processes.
  • Individual meetings with team members who are submitting individual activities requiring counseling and assistance with submitting applications.
  • Facilitates the activity renewal process for recurring activities by coordinating team efforts.
