Summer Engineering Intern

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Engineering and production to create, update, revise and modify drawings related to configurations, and sheet metal design.
  • Complete Bill of Materials and Routings utilizing ERP System.
  • Utilize 2D/3D CAD equipment to generate computer drawings.
  • Execute changes (internal and external) through the identified change order process.
  • Follow the specified design procedure, design review procedure, and as built correction procedures.
  • Examine electronic drawings to develop and verify specifications and drafting data such as configuration of parts, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Operate file management software for the storage and retrieval of design information.
  • Offer design improvement techniques to increase productivity and quality and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • College Sophmore or higher in good standing
  • 3.0 cumalitive GPA or higher
  • 2D/3D CAD Experience (Solid Works, Auto Cad, etc.)

Other Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, e.g. welding, fabrication, laser or plasma cutting, hydraulics, etc. (preferred)
  • Ability to effectively perform in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with flexible and changing schedules.
  • Solid commitment to quality, process improvement and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace, quick changing environment.
